Lifetime Learning: Arts for Animals - Connecting Creativity & Conservation

Snow Library
i

Anne London and Jim Hart come to Snow Library to talk about Arts for Animals, the conservation organization they founded together in 2012. Through Arts for Animals, London, an internationally acclaimed American wildlife artist and conservationist, and Hart, an oceanographer and conservationist, have taught children and trained teachers on how to draw the wild animals they co-exist with. From teaching on tree stumps and old doors in the bush, to a dedicated 14 year long effort to set up special conservation education centers, London's hands-on art education has built a new culture of protecting wildlife by changing local attitudes about the huge role animals play in their heritage and their future. The program, reaching 3,500 children annually, changes the future of wild animals as well as the local people by using the magic of art to ignite a passion for protecting wildlife: https://aelondonstudio.com/ArtsForAnimals
