DESCRIPTION:\nThe exhibit “Take Heart\,” a non-traditional love story t
old through a series of images captured during the pandemic by artists Rac
hael Sokolowski and Suz Karchmer\, is on display through the end of Februa
ry in Snow Library's Craine Gallery. Come to a screening of a documentary
on the project at a special reception for the show\, free and open to the
public.\n\nRachael Sokolowski is a visual artist and writer living in Nort
h Truro\, Massachusetts. She creates work that serves as a collage of stor
ies\, enriched through the addition of language. Her art encourages viewer
s to reflect on the state of the world\, one image at a time. Some of her
projects unfold without a defined beginning or end\, emerging naturally th
rough a flow of moments. In this instance\, the combination of hearts and
journal entries coalesced into a visual poem\, capturing the essence of a
journey and its meaning.\n\nSuz Karchmer is a photographer living in Harwi
ch\, Massachusetts. She thrives on creativity\, curiosity and moments of d
iscovery. Her photos juxtapose the ordinary with the unexpected as she exp
lores her photographic world through portrait\, street\, abstract and flor
al photography. The hearts project was a powerful inspiration culminating
in this exhibit\; documenting her journey to find hope in the midst of the
pandemic and joy in the Outer Cape’s loving response.
